I have to admit: I had forgotten just how much I love Rome. Aside from the unfortunate switch from the uber-inexpensive Lira to the weight-bearing Euro, Rome hasn’t changed much in the past 10 years. My brother spending the semester in Rome provided the perfect excuse to visit (not that I needed one). Since I have toured Italy, I didn’t have much on my “to do/see” list, but that’s the great thing about Rome – we would be walking to dinner, turn a corner and suddenly the Pantheon, or the Trevi Fountain, or the Spanish Steps would come into view. Over the course of a few days, we managed to encounter every major landmark in the city. We walked, we saw, but mainly we ate, subsisting the entire trip on pizza, pasta, panini, and gelato. La dolce vita!
